Farewell Party of Ms.Qudsia Parveen (20.09.1990- 30.06.2021) former Officiating Principal and Head Deptt. of History.






Like all other years this year also the farewell party for the B.A and B.Com third year students was organised by the cultural committee of the college in March 2020. As per the tradition of the college the program started with Dua. The second year students presented various cultural programs for the outgoing students of B.A and B.Com 3rd year. Cultural program included poems, songs, gazal, skit, group and solo dances. A display of self design dresses was also part of the program in which girls of fashion designing course run by Carrier Council and Placement cell of college took part. The highlight of the event was the Miss Karamat title which was won by Sadiya Khatoon, Sonnpriya and Nancy Tamarkar stood second and third runner up. Students who had obtained highest marks in their respective subjects in B.A second year were awarded with certificates and medals.

Student (Alumina of the college) Miss Arshiya Parveen was an outstanding chief guest of the program. She shared her experiences with the students and encourage them to do good in life. The program concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the respected Principal of the College Ms. Qudsia Parveen.





Farewells were organized by the juniors for their outgoing seniors.
The functions were organized in February in the College Hostel and the Faculty of Science. The Dept. of English and the Faculty of Arts held theirs in the first week of March.

This was a time for nostalgia, for fun and for serious introspection. Special recognition was given to students who displayed wit, confidence and intelligence and had good academic records as well - Towheed of Sem IV, M.A. English; Afiya Siddiqui of B.A.III; Hina Iqbal and Ruqayya Fatma of B.S.c. III; and Fehmina of B.Ed.


Celebrating the Breast Cancer Awareness month this October, Vatslaya (NGO) in collaboration with Karamat Husain Muslim Girls' P.G. College, Lucknow, organised an online Lecture, "An Awareness on Breast Cancer Prevention" on 21.10.2021. Mrs.Saher Husain, Principal Karamat Husain Muslim Girls' P.G.College, Lucknow and Dr.Neelam Singh, leading Gynaecologist and Chief Functionary Vatsalaya, shared very relevant information on keeping Breast Cancer at bay. This was organised by NSS officers and members of the Health Club.









A Tree Plantation cum Cleanliness Drive was undertaken  by the National Service Scheme at Karamat Husain Muslim Girls' P.G.College, Lucknow on 9.10.2021. Neembu, Karaunda, Guava, Rose, Harsinghar, Seasonal plants and Bela were planted on different places on the campus. This was carried on keeping in view the clean and green environment as per the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. The Principal, Mrs.Saher Hussain, NSS officers Dr.Ayesha A.Warsi, Dr.Saima Rafat and Dr.Naghma Sultan along with other staff members and students remained actively present.











Organised a programme on Gandhi Jayanti, to commemorate the 152nd Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This was conducted under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The programme was coordinated by the National Service Scheme and Chauri- Chaura committee.








A closing ceremony of Poshan Maah was organised by conducting a Nutrition Awareness Rally at Karamat Husain Muslim Girls' P.G.College, Lucknow, on 30.9.21.






Mission Pink Health Camp


In view of the Poshan Maah(1.9.21 to 30.9.21), The National Service Scheme and Health Club in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association, Lucknow organised a Health Camp. This was done under Mission Pink Health, a Community Health Project for Adolescent on 29.9.21.






A Programme on NSS Foundation Day was organised under the able guidance of the principal, Mrs.Saher Hussain, at Karamat Husain Muslim Girls' P.G.College, Lucknow, today on 24.9.21. The NSS programme officers Dr.Ayesha A.Warsi, Dr.Saima Rafat and Dr.Naghma Sultan highlighted the aims and objectives of NSS through an interface with the students. The NSS volunteers came up with the NSS song "Swayam Samaaj ke liye uthe uthe". This helped inculcating the values and spirit of NSS in the students.

National Services Scheme - Special Camp



The NSS Coordinators Mrs. Seema Aquil, Mrs. Nageen Ahmed and Dr. Yasmeen Rehana  organized a special camp at Takia Nishatganj , for  the three NSS Units of the College, 9-15 Feb 2011.

The Volunteers carried out a cleanliness drive and talked to the residents of the basti on the importance of education. The invited guests to the camp venue were Ms.Surayia Kidwai who held an embroidery competition, Dr.Ritu Varshney talked on Acupressure and Mr. A.K. Dixit discussed Legal Issues with the Volunteers.

Gender issues were taken up by members of Sajhi Duniya in an interactive session with the students the NSS programme Coordinator of Lucknow University, Dr.Sushma Mishra was Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony. She lauded the efforts of the volunteers and asked them to develop Community Service as a habit to be carried out even after passing out from the College.

Arabic Department

Department of Arabic organised an Online Programme of the One Month Extension Lecture Series on the topic" A Practical  Approach to the Arabic Language & Translation" on 29.6.21.
The Guest Speaker was Dr. Zar Nigar, Assistant Professor, Dept.of Arabic, Centre of Arabic & African Studies, JNU,  New Delhi.

Dr. Aisha Qudsi Qidwai, Assistant Professor, Department of Arabic was the coordinator of the program. Dr. Zar Nigar's in her Keynote address enlightened the listeners about the growing importance of Arabic as a language and guided them on the practical aspects involved in its translation. Faculty members and students enjoyed this enlightening programme which greatly enhanced their knowledge.








English Department


In response to the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai the English Dept. organized a Seminar “How terrorism can be eradicated?”.

One of the participants. Asia Arif of BA1 said that terrorism can be countered by modernization of intelligence systems, by education, by the positive role of the media, the government and public working towards a common goal.

Dr. S. Taj Bano, Head Eng. Dept. concluded the seminar on the time tested proverb “United we stand……”. She also laid emphasis on removing prejudices and developing an understanding with other communities.


Career Counselling Committee organized a program on 25/10/21 by FLEDE Institute of Aviation and Hospitality, on which information was provided to the girls by experts Farha Batool and Sufia Siddiqui in the subject of skill development, aviation and hospitality and questions asked by the students were solved.















Gandhi Jayanti Celebration in Karamat Husain Muslim Girls P.G. College.

Shainda Hasan Library organised book exhibition on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. College Librarian Dr. Zeba Khanam displayed the books on Mahatma Gandhi and also organised a photo gallery. The students and teachers were very much attracted with the collection. College Principal Mrs. Saher Hussain said that nowdays it is very important to uplift the values and ideas of Gandhi ji among all the students as well as teachers.

























Library orientation program was organised at karamat Husain Muslim Girls P. G. College. Dr.Zeba Khanam (College Librarian) aware the students with the importance of Library in the present scenario and the role of libraries in building the knowledge based society. College Principal Mrs.Saher Hussain motivate the students to make full utilisation of College Library. All the faculty members of the College participated in the event.










Team mission shakti organised  a lecture on 'Women Empowerment' on 13th September, 2021.










Career Counselling and Placement Cell
under the aegis of Medha organised an orientation programme for registration to e-CAB (Career Advancement Bootcamp) for improving employability skills of students.

Orientation Program on National Education Policy

Karamat Hussain Muslim Girls P.G College organized an Orientation Program on National Education Policy 2020 under the able guidance of the principal Mrs. Saher Hussain.
Dr. Hajra Masood from department of sociology, spoke on the topic in detail along with Dr. Shaheen Fatima Khan, Dr. Ritu Tewari. Dr. Jahanara from department of education recited her self composed poem on the policy. All the faculty memebers participated actively in the event.








Celebrated *Women Equality Day* on 26th August 2021.

In which the Director of Manshi Creation & Faishon Designing Institute, Mrs. Mukta Tiwari, developed employable skills among Students.






Career Counselling and Placement Cell (2019-2020)


Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Karamat Husain Muslim Girls PG College organised a Placement drive in the college on 4th March 2020 at the college campus. 180 students participated and 80 were short listed for internship and jobs. Companies like HDFC Bank,Kotak Mahindra, and Shriram Mutual Fund came for recruitment.








 

Career counselling and Placement cell and Mansi institute (2019-2020)

Career counselling and Placement cell in collaboration with Mansi Institute organised a fashion designing course for the students. A six months course in which about 50 students got enrolled. The course started from 2 August, 2019 to January, 2020. It helped the students to become self dependent and self employed. After the successful completion of the course on 25 February, 2020 an exhibition was organised which was inaugurated by the Principal Ms. Qudsia Parveen.The best dresses of these students were selected by a jury of teachers and showcased in a Fashion show . The participating students were awarded prizes for best dress and best model.















Library Awareness Camp: A camp was organized on 2nd December 2008 to provide User Orientation and User Education to the students. There was also a display of choice books from the Reference Section. Students were encouraged to register complaints and give suggestions in a register specially provided for this purpose.
         
The College organizes these camps frequently to create general awareness among the students and to and to sensitize them to those issues not normally covered by academics.

    


Career Counseling Cell: Dr. Syeda Taj Bano, Director of the Career Counselling Cell, organized a Seminar for the students which was conducted bt NIIT, Nirala Nagar on 21 Feb, 2011. The students underwent a National IT Aptitude Test to gauge their aptitude and potential for a career in booming IT Industry.

The college students also had an interactive session organized by the Gyan Institute of Management and Technology on diverse topics such as Career Prospects after Graduation, Time Management and Importance of Management in Education.

This cell of the college is continually striving to provide career options and guidance to the students. The Director of the Cell Dr. S. Taj Bano organized meetings of the students with various organizations such as NIIT Computers, AHA Academy, MIE Educational Services etc. These organizations installed a sense of self worth in the students as well as positive values for their careers ahead.

In August this year the Counseling Cell coordinated with the MAAC Lucknow Center to organize a presentation for the girls with a view to generating awareness among them. The presentation was based on the usage and scope of 3D Animation and Visual Effects in the entertainment industry. As a follow up to the above programmer MAAC Lucknow Center organized another seminar in October 2009 on Animation, Media and Entertainment with a focus on Visual effects and Special effects in Animation. In September, the Center Manager of XEL Informatics gave a lecture on personality development. After the lecture a competition was organized for the students and prizes were given to the winners.
    

World Cancer Day: World Cancer Day was observed on 4th February 2009 as and it was utilized to give some important facts of the disease to the students and to inform them that many types of cancer were curable if the person was observant in reporting early symptoms to the doctor.

    
      

Subject Counseling Cell: Syed Shuaib Ahmad Saheb, the College Manager introduced Subject Counseling Cell this year to monitor subject options offered to fresher students. It had been noticed over the years that subject choices were taken casually by the students resulting in over crowding in some subjects, leaving vacant seats in others and also sometimes the students found themselves saddled with a subject they did not really wanted. So this year each student was required to undergo a counseling process where subject options were discussed and where the cell members helped each student in the final choice of subjects most suited to her profile. The Counseling Cells proved to be a great success and the endless queues for admission were proof that students wanted quality education in the secure environment of this institution.

Flood Relief: The staff and students of the College collected relief articles consisting of Rice and Wheat grains, Biscuits, Matches, Old and New items of Clothing for the flood effected people of Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, and Gazipur Districts. The drive was organized by Dr. Noor Khan, Mrs. Nageen Ahmad & Dr. Yasmeen Rehana. A letter to deep appriciation was sent to the College by the Director of the Relief Society.
