Karamat Husain Muslim Girls P.G. College has been granted the status of Facilitation Centre of NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology) to conduct Digital Literacy Courses (CCC and BCC). Registration for the Courses will start with immediate effect.

Farewells were organized by the juniors for their outgoing seniors. The functions were organized in February in the College Hostel and the Faculty of Science. The Dept. of English and the Faculty of Arts held theirs in the first week of March.
This was a time for nostalgia, for fun and for serious introspection. Special recognition was given to students who displayed wit, confidence and intelligence and had good academic records as well - Towheed of Sem IV, M.A. English; Afiya Siddiqui of B.A.III; Hina Iqbal and Ruqayya Fatma of B.S.c. III; and Fehmina of B.Ed.
Karamat College Hosts a Zonal Seminar
The Committee on Girls’ Education organized a Zonal Seminar on “Empowerment of Minority Girls Through Education” on 15 Feb 2011. The Chief Guest For the occasion was Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.S.A. Siddiqui, Chairman, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions New Delhi.
His address focused on some serious issues of how to reduce drop out rates in schools and to adopt suitable measures to attract minority girls towards education.
Dr. Mohinder Singh and Dr. Cyriac Thomas, Members of the Commission were Guest of Honour. The Function was organized at the Auditorium of the B.Ed. Dept. and Syed Shuaib Ahmed Saheb, Manager of the College was Convenor of the Seminar. Dr. Shabistan Gaffar, Chairperson of the Committee gave a report on the work done by the Committee since its inception in 2007.
Dr. Qamar Rehman, Member of the Committee, in her Keynote Address, talked of the need of imparting Technical Education to Minority Girls. Prof. Roop Rekha Verma, former VC, Lucknow University supported the issue of educating the girl child by quoting from a letter in the State Archives written by Justice Syed Karamat Husain, Founder of the College “Latest modern education should be given to women”.

National Services Scheme - Special Camp
The NSS Coordinators Mrs. Seema Aquil, Mrs. Nageen Ahmed and Dr. Yasmeen Rehana organized a special camp at Takia Nishatganj , for the three NSS Units of the College, 9-15 Feb 2011.
The Volunteers carried out a cleanliness drive and talked to the residents of the basti on the importance of education. The invited guests to the camp venue were Ms.Surayia Kidwai who held an embroidery competition, Dr.Ritu Varshney talked on Acupressure and Mr. A.K. Dixit discussed Legal Issues with the Volunteers.
Gender issues were taken up by members of Sajhi Duniya in an interactive session with the students the NSS programme Coordinator of Lucknow University, Dr.Sushma Mishra was Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony. She lauded the efforts of the volunteers and asked them to develop Community Service as a habit to be carried out even after passing out from the College.
